DAY 1: WELCOME TO SOUTH AFRICA
You will be met by your local guide who will be your personal host over the next few days. You will head to your hotel for an early check-in and get refreshed. Depending on flight arrival you will have light lunch at the hotel or head straight to Table mountain to admire the beautiful views of the City.
DAY 2 : CAPE POINT TOUR
After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll embark on your journey towards the most South-Western Point of Africa – Cape Point. Explore the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve at its best, with magnificent fynbos vegetation, birdlife, endemic antelope species and zebra, historic lighthouses and shipwrecks. Cape Point is the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The road trip along the Atlantic Seaboard showcases the Western Cape’s magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, historic and picturesque coastal villages. The Cape Peninsula is one of the world’s most scenic areas and stretches from the City centre to Cape Point.
From here we will move to a secluded spot along the coast where you will experience a traditional South African barbeque a mouth-watering South African cuisine that we simply call a “BRAAI”. First some history lesson in the origins of the word “braai”. It evolved from the word braden (Roast in Dutch) into braaivleis (Which is Afrikaans for grilled meat) and then into the verb braai which means “to grill”.
The word braai forms a proud part of South African “slang” and is used by people of all languages. When we braai we roast meat on an open fire, while we enjoy the company of friends and family. It is a social event and a great opportunity to enjoy our fantastic South African wine. The whole experience is inter-active and we will be taking you through each step of the braai ritual. This mouth-watering experience includes succulent South African lamb chops, chicken sosaties (kebabs), a braai-broodjie, salads and coffee.
We go on to historic Simon’s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach. Your day exploring the coast ends at the memorable Kirstenbosch Gardens, the perfect end to the unforgettable experience of the Cape Point.
DAY 3: Flavours of Freedom Food Tour
You will have the morning free to get some souvenirs or explore other parts of the city you havent has a chance to see then by 14:00 your guide will drop you off at the starting point of this tour.
Taste the untold stories of Cape Town’s past on a culinary journey through its dark legacy of slavery, colonization, apartheid, and racial oppression. Explore how food became both a tool of oppression and an act of resistance, with flavours shaped by forced migration and survival. Walk the streets where history unfolded, savour dishes with deep-rooted significance, and engage in conversations that challenge, inform, and inspire. This is more than a food tour—it’s a reckoning with history, one bite at a time!
The experience begins in the Company’s Garden, where guests enjoy two indigenous teas paired with a traditional Hertzoggie and a savoury bite made from locally sourced ingredients. Against the backdrop of Cape Town’s oldest cultivated land, the story unfolds from the indigenous Khoisan people to the impact of the Spice Route, European colonization, and the beginning of the slave trade. Stops at St. George’s Cathedral, the Slave Lodge, and Groot Kerk offer deeper insight into the city’s foundations.
Next we pass through historic city streets, where our story shifts to colonial history and the lives of the enslaved people who shaped the city’s culture. A stoop for a carefully curated platter showcases flavours from South Africa and neighbouring African nations, illustrating the continent’s culinary connections. Here we will sample a local beer or soft drink while discussing the influence of African cultures, the legacy of slavery, and the path toward apartheid.
Later, a South African favourite, the boerie roll with chakalaka, is served alongside wine or beer, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. The conversation turns to the city’s transformation during and after apartheid, highlighting the significance of Heritage Day and Cape Town’s resilience.
We end our journey with a tasting of locally distilled gin, a handcrafted chocolate bonbon, and a savoury bite of biltong or olives. The final discussion reflects on the repurposing of historic buildings, the empowerment of local communities, and the role of Fynbos in modern Cape cuisine. This journey through Cape Town’s history, told through its food, offers a thought-provoking and immersive experience for those interested in the dark and troubling history that makes modern South Africa what it is today.
For your final evening in Cape Town, you will head to GOLD for an Africa feast with various flavours from around the continent.
DAY 4: CAPE WINELANDS
Today you will venture North to the famous Cape Winelands for a series of unique wine pairings and flavour combination. You will start off with a visit to Morgenster wine estate for an olive oil and bread tasting where you can sample some of the world’s best extra virgin olive oil followed by their wine tasting experience. From here head towards Stellenbosch to Waterford Wine Estate where you can experience a unique wine tasting experience or pairing Waterford wines with their artisanal chocolate!
Lunch will be at La Motte Estate for a finite dining wine and lunch pairing. A well-informed Wine Ambassador guides guests through an educational and entertaining food and wine pairing. Food is presented as a modern interpretation of heritage cuisine and the restaurant team works closely with Cellarmaster -Edmund Terblanche- in creating cuisine to beautifully complement the estate’s wines.
The delicately plated tasters beautifully complement the elegant environment, but still represent flavours and tastes we experience every day and will guide guests towards more reliable future food and wine selections, with reference to weight and intensity, as well as the influence of the primary taste sensations.
After lunch, you will head to Babylonstoren where you will spend 2 nights at Babylonstoren a working farm and wine estate where you will get a full immersion of farm to table experience from their cattle and bakery to their fruit trees, nutgrove and spice gardens too.

DAY 5: BABYLONSTOREN
Here you will start the day off with breakfast followed by a visit to the Bakery to see where the lovely bread and pastry smells come from You will then meet your guide for a garden tour to discover our special collections in the garden. Depending on the time of year, gardeners may take guests to see the succulent collection, the cycads or clivias, or for a walk through the Healing Garden. You will also get the opportunity to visit the cheese shop to learn how they make some of their cheeses then visit the meat Room learning about their cattle pigs and chickens, the meat quality, and various cuts and unique dishes. From here, you will head out to the highest pint on the farm with Land Rover for an amazing sunset and wine tasting with views of Table Mountain in the distance.
Each stay and experience at Babylonstoren will be curated to individual and group needs before being booked to ensure the most appropriate and fulfilling experience. for those that would like to just relax at the pool with a glass of wine, they can do that too.

DAY 6: GROOTBOS PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE
After Leaving the Cape Winelands your guide will take you South-East to the Whale Coast to a unique Location and Reserve Grootbos part of National Geographics unique lodges of the world.
Arrive at Grootbos Nature Reserve and sample a delicious lunch in the restaurant or on our outside deck in the fresh air. After checking in to your suite, join one of our chefs on a Growing the Future tour, visiting our farm and seeing where we source most of our vegetables, honey, chicken, and eggs. In the evening, prepare yourself for an unforgettable culinary experience featuring five flavour-packed courses paired with the best South African wines.

DAY 7: GROOTBOS EXPERIENCE
After breakfast, board our 4×4 vehicle for a reserve tour introducing you to the wondrous wildflowers and creatures of the fynbos kingdom. Breathe in the honey scent of the blossoms, gaze at the dramatic views and learn fascinating facts that will amaze you. Afterward, join our sommelier on a tour of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, visiting three wine estates that are famous for their Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs. At one of the estates we’ll arrange a superb food and wine pairing for lunch – but make sure you leave space for another 5-course dinner later that same day!

DAY 8: JOHANNESBURG WALKING FOOD TOUR
After Breakfast you will; be collected by your guide and head back to Cape Town to catch your flight to Johannesburg the City of Gold.
After Checking in to your hotel you will then be whisked off to downtown Johannesburg for a walking food tour with a local blogger. The tour starts in Newtown, where you will learn a bit about the history of the area. We take a walk to Fordsburg, stopping at the famous graffiti gallery. We visit 7 traders (subject to availability) in the area, sampling a variety of snacks and a sit-down lunch. We do not eat from any restaurants, the focus is on street food.
DAY 9: SOWETO DAY TOUR
Start with a drive past the Soweto Baragwanath hospital followed by a tour of Regina Mundi Catholic church. After this follow one of the routes that the children marched from school during the Soweto uprising, to Hector Pietersen Memorial Museum. Then on to Vilakazi street the street housing Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela’s homes and the Mandela House Museum. From here we will head to local Shisanyama restaurant for a traditional African Barbeque with the locals followed by a visit to a local beer Microbrewery for a tasting. You will end off with dinner at one of Johannesburg Best restaurants and views at the Four Seasons Westcliff restaurant simply called View.

Our sommelier and chef have travelled the South African Winelands to give you a variety of over 120 of the finest wines. Not only are they perfectly matched to View’s menu but they also represent some of the more exclusive offerings from the Cape and around the world.
DAY 10: SAFARI
After Breakfast, you will be taken to the airport to catch flight to the Greater Kruger National Park. you will enjoy a 2 night stay at an exclusive luxury lodge. You will arrive in time for lunch before some relaxation time and you first Safari, followed by dinner under the stars. ( weather permitting)

DAY 11: THE FINAL DAY
This will be you final day in South Africa after an early morning start with your Safari you will head back to have an amazing breakfast and some relaxation time before catching your midday flight back to Johannesburg and flying back home that evening.
