The Cape and Kruger Fully guided tour is the quintessential South African adventure if you only have 10 days.

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

Depart from the airport and aim straight for Table Mountain if it is a clear day. The Cape weather is extremely temperamental and advantage will be taken at any opportunity of clear weather to see the spectacular view from the top of the mountain. The cable car is the quickest way to the top where you can walk along well trodden routes to marvel at the wonder that is the Cape Peninsula. A light lunch or snack is available on the mountain. After this check in to the accommodation and spend the remainder of the afternoon at the Victoria & Alfred (V&A) Waterfront before dinner.

DAY 2: VISIT TO ROBBEN ISLAND AND TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM

After breakfast a short boat ride will take you to Robben Island where you will be guided through the prison and see where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 27 years. After lunch at the V&A Waterfront you will have the opportunity to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium and maybe even witness feeding time too.

DAY 3: CAPE POINT TOUR

Day three takes you onto one of South Africa’s most beautiful and evocative areas, Cape Point. You cannot see Cape Point without leaving it and feeling something. It is the point where two oceans meet, a place where you are immersed in nature and the view is spectacular. You become part of the elements, the wind gushing past, the sun shining, the water pounding against the rocks, the earth solid under your feet. A visit to the lighthouse puts it all into perspective. The way back takes you past picturesque Simon’s Town, the home of the South African Navy and a visit to Boulders beach to see the African penguin colony, to end off the quintessential Cape Point tour.

DAY 4: CAPE WINELANDS

A drive north to Stellenbosch will take you into the wine route area. Stellenbosch is the oldest town in South Africa, founded in 1679. It is replete with history, Cape Dutch architecture, ancient trees lanes, cobble stones and is the home of the world renowned Stellenbosch University. This is followed by a few stops at wine estates in the picturesque Franschhoek area and along the wine route back to Cape Town.

DAY 5: TRANSFER TO JOHANNESBURG

Spend the morning relaxing and shopping, taking in the sea air, the atmosphere, the charm of Cape Town before leaving for the airport. Fly to Johannesburg and get collected by your guide and transferred to your hotel and depending on the time enjoy a short tour or just some shopping.

DAY 6: TRANSFER TO THE LOWVELD

This is a full day transfer, Leave and travel towards Hazyview in the Mpumalnga province and enjoy your first night in the lowveld close to the Kruger National Park.

Overnight: Ashbourne Country Escape, Hazyview

DAY 7: FULL DAY SAFARI- KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Spend the day touring the southern region of the park searching for the various animals and spotting the big 5 this region is vastly different in vegetation to the northern Mopani and thorn veld Savannah

Overnight: Ashbourne Country Escape, Hazyview

DAY 8: PANORAMA ROUTE

The eighth day sees the tour heading for the Panorama route up the escarpment with stops at Graskop, Gods Window, Bourkes luck potholes and the 3 Rondawels. this followed by a drive down Abel Erasmus pass and through to Phalaborwa and your hotel which is adjacent to the Kruger National Park but in the central part of the park.

DAY 9: FULL DAY SAFARI- KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Spend this day in the central parts of the park visiting the elephant museum at Letaba rest camp followed by driving north following the Letaba river and a stop at Mopani rest camp for lunch on the deck. After lunch head back to Phalaborwa via a different route.

Overnight: Bushveld Terrace Hotel on Kruger

DAY 10: TRANSFER TO JOHANNESBURG

The tour heads out of the park and will take a route that meanders through some rather spectacular areas and historically interesting locations, climbing up the escarpment from the warm and thorny Lowveld to the more forested and cooler climates of the Highveld. Return to the airport or other Gauteng destination.
