Day 1:
A DAY TRIP TO THE CRADLE OF HUMANKIND AND STERKFONTEIN CAVES

Option 1: Arriving in the afternoon or later
If your flight arrives in the late afternoon or early evening you will be transported to one of Johannesburg’s finest luxury hotels: The Peech Boutique Hotel. Here you can enjoy your first African sunset with a glass of South Africa’s famous wine, and relax before your trip commences the following day. (This will add an additional day to your trip.)

Option 2: Arriving in the early morning
If your flight arrives in the morning, you will be transported to one of Johannesburg’s finest luxury hotels –The Peech Boutique Hotel - for check-in and to freshen up before the days’ activity.

Enjoy a scenic one-hour road trip from your hotel in Johannesburg towards one of the world’s heritage sites: the Cradle of Humankind. Meandering through this iconic museum will let you unravel the origins and evolution of mankind.

Following that, a guided walk through the famous and historic Sterkfontein caves will open a door to the past: you can see how Dr Broom and his team of archaeologists discovered a range of fascinating fossils that changed how we viewed the history of humanity, such as Mrs Ples and Little Foot, to name a few.

After that you will enjoy a scrumptious lunch on site before your trip back to The Peech Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg.

Day 2:
A DAY TRIP TO UKUTULA LION PARK

This morning you will be collected after a gourmet breakfast at the Peech Boutique Hotel , and escorted on a full day trip to the Ukutula Lion Park . Here you’ll enjoy some unforgettable moment: playing with young lion cubs; going on a guided tour of the lion, cheetah, tigers, caracals and hyenas enclosures; as well as a guided bush walk with lions.

Enjoy a light, tasty lunch and refreshments before the trip back to your hotel in Johannesburg.

Day 3:
TRANSFER TO BOTSWANA

After breakfast, a hotel representative will transport you to OR Tambo International Airport, where you will board your brief flight (1 hour 30 minutes) to Maun Airport in Botswana.

On arrival at Maun Airport, a representative from your accommodation will assist you in boarding your onward flight to Sanctuary Baines’ Camp (the flying time is approximately 15 minutes). Sanctuary Baines’ Camp will be your accommodation for the next three nights.

On arrival at the airstrip, a representative will meet and transfer you to the luxury camp. Take the rest of the afternoon to settle in and enjoy the spectacular surroundings of the game reserve and the breathtaking Okavango delta.

  • Two daily shared game viewing activities. These include morning and evening game drives, mokoro (canoe) excursions, motorised boating (seasonal) and walking safaris

Day 4:
MOKORO EXCURSION

After a fresh breakfast in the morning light at the camp, you’ll be guided on a traditional dugout canoe (“mokoro”) excursion through the Okavango Delta. This is a unique way to explore the Okavango Delta and a memorable way to see wildlife from the water.

Did you know? In 2014, the Okavango Delta became the thousandth place to be enlisted as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was also voted as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa the year before.

An optional afternoon walking tour or evening game drive can be arranged.

Day 5:
GAME DRIVE: MOREMI GAME RESERVE

After a gourmet lunch, an expert local guide will transport you to the surrounding Moremi Game Reserve where the variety of animals and sweeping landscapes are both fascinating, and offer a true African safari adventure.

An optional boma dinner under the sparkling stars can be arranged.

Day 6:
GAME DRIVE: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

After a scrumptious breakfast at the Camp you’ll be transported to Maun to board a short flight over the Chobe National Park. You’ll arrive in Kasane, where a hotel representative will transport you to Ngoma Safari Lodge within the CHOBE FOREST RESERVE, known for having Africa’s largest concentration of elephants.

Bordering the Chobe National Park, Ngoma Safari Lodge commands stunning vistas over the Chobe River and Caprivi floodplain from its elevated perch on the rocky escarpment.

Once you are settled, an afternoon game drive has been arranged.

The afternoon game drive is the ideal opportunity to capture the African wilderness in what are sure to be spectacular photographs. The Chobe National Park has some of the largest concentrations of game on the African continent, and regular sightings include elephant, giraffe, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and bushbuck.

Day 7:
AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE ON THE CHOBE RIVER

Spend the morning relaxing around the pool, enjoying the unforgettable views, or alternatively enjoy an early morning game drive.

Enjoy a luxury boat cruise along the Chobe River as the sun sets. The completely silent boat allows for some breathtaking game viewing, as the animals come to quench their thirst. An afternoon cruise allows for a magnificent sunset and plenty of photo opportunities.

Day 8:
ARRIVE IN ZAMBIA

After your breakfast at the lodge you will enjoy a relaxing road trip to ZAMBIA where after about a two-hour drive, including a ferry crossing at Kazungula (depending on the border formalities), you will arrive at your accommodation on the banks of the Zambezi River – the luxurious Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma.

Included in the accommodation fee:

  • Two daily shared game viewing activities. These include a tour of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, game drives in the National Park, sundowner cruise, local school and village tour, walking safari, fishing and canoeing excursions

Day 9:
TOUR OF VICTORIA FALLS: ZAMBIA SIDE

A highlight of any visit to Livingstone is a trip to the iconic Victoria Falls! Enjoy our specially crafted walking tour of the world-famous falls, first described by explorer David Livingstone and known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or “the Smoke that Thunders”. The falls make a constant roar and are accompanied by a cloud of brilliant spray where the mile-wide Upper Zambezi falls 300 feet into the Lower Zambezi.

If you are brave enough, why not try an (optional) bungee jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge? The bridge spans the Zambezi between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Enjoy a leisurely lunch while viewing the magnificence of the falls.

Day 10:
GAME DRIVE: MOSI-OA-TUNYA NATIONAL PARK

Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma is set on the edge of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Here the highly trained safari guides will take you on game drive in custom-built 4x4 safari vehicles to experience the land as it was when Livingstone first made his way across the bridge and beheld the smoke that thunders (the Victoria Falls).

Day 11:
SUNDOWNER CRUISE ON THE ZAMBEZI RIVER

This morning you could relax at the crystal clear pool, overlooking the Zambezi River, or visit the town of Livingstone again and take a scenic flight over the Victoria Falls, or just shop around the curio market for a souvenir to take home.

A fitting way to end your holiday in Africa is a sunset cruise on the Zambezi. The luxury boats are specially designed. The expert guide will take the boat through a series of Grade 2 rapids before finding a unique spot to beach for a break and a sunset cocktail. The combination of Zambezi spray on your face and delicious sundowners make for a memorable sunset cruise. Sipping on a refreshment while watching the sunset over the majestic Zambezi River is truly a once in a lifetime experience and a picturesque end to your holiday.

Day 12:
BACK TO SOUTH AFRICA

After your final special African inspired breakfast, a representative from Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma will transport you to the Livingstone airport where you will fly approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, before your final journey back home.
